Who are you?
Hi! I’m Alyssa, hence the title. I’m 25 years old and a post-grad with a B.A. Psychology and Anthropology. I live in Maryland in Suburbia and work for a financial advising firm as a Client Services Manager. I’m silly, upbeat, over-analyzing, ambitious, and sometimes just plain old weird.
A lot of reasons! I created AlyssaOutloud at the very end of August 2012 because I wanted an outlet for my crazy thoughts, ideas, and plans. I wanted to share my life with the world and hoped that the world would want to share back a little as well. I love writing, I’ve written for as long as I can remember. Blogging is something I’d wanted to do for a while, and had tried in the past. But I was never able to keep up with blogging for very long, unless you count my livejournal that I started in seventh grade. That may have lasted a year. Anyway, this is my way of flexing my writing muscle because I’m not in college anymore and can’t keep taking ‘Advanced Fiction Writing’.
What are your dreams?
Run a 10k (I’ve run a few 5ks), publish a book, become a certified yoga instructor, have a book published, be able to squat more than I weigh, receive an honest-to-god love letter in the mail, have the ability to take my education wherever I’d like it to go, and teach seminars on Communication. Also, I’d quite like to go to Burning Man. Just once.
Are you single?
“Discover why you’re important, then refuse to settle for anyone who doesn’t completely agree.” Fisher Amelie
I am single, though currently seeing someone. He’s well-educated, athletic, and handsome. Yes, I will accept a high-five.
What is your favorite thing to do?
Oh, that depends on the day! Some days it’s read, some days it’s run, some days it’s cook or cuddle or yoga or write or shop. Some days it’s just having quality time with a friend. One of my favorite pastimes is grabbing coffee at a local coffee place in my hometown with a friend. Gossiping over caffeine? Nothing like it.
What is the hardest thing about your lifestyle?
Consistency! Some days I’m super motivated to eat clean, run hard, and read deeply, but others I just want The Universe and a pint of ice cream.
Any other questions? Just ask! I’ll answer.
